Luxury Personified™
Ervin Simmons
Born and raised in Connecticut, Ervin Simmons is a stylist with an accomplished background in psychology; he holds a B.A. in Psychology from Syracuse University and spent two years as a Ph.D. student studying clinical psychology at the University of Miami, which maintains a top-20 doctoral programme in the field. Ervin’s expertise in psychology informs his styling work and has led him to become the world’s first—and only—Psychostylist™, which is a stylist who uses an intricate understanding of human cognition and human behaviour to style emotionally-activating looks. For example, in the case of personal styling, Ervin’s psychology expertise uniquely equips him to help clients better learn and express themselves with fashion, ultimately positioning clients to be happier, more confident, and more loving of themselves. In the context of editorial; runway; commercial; and television, film, and theatrical wardrobe styling, Ervin’s background in psychology allows him to efficiently assemble looks that resonate with audiences and consumers. As a Psychostylist™, Ervin wields the eye of an art curator; the intellect of a scientist; and the creativity of a storyteller.
Ervin currently resides in Montgomery County, Maryland, and works between the Washington metropolitan area and New York City. He is accepting a select number of discerning clients for personal styling services, and he is judiciously available for lookbooks, editorials, and collaborations.

En Vogue Erv™
Founded by Ervin, the En Vogue Erv™ brand is distinctively introspective: it is one of self-exploration, self-expression, self-empowerment, self-actualisation, and self-adoration. The brand's signature maxim, Luxury Personified™, was thoughtfully crafted with the understanding that luxury begs authenticity.
Clients who receive personal styling services from En Vogue Erv™ are individuals who are highly attuned to, and celebratory of, themselves; they are aware of their innermost thoughts and desires, and they confidently lead their lives in accordance with their values. They are individuals who are intimately conscious of how they show up in rooms, spaces, and the world at large yet remain unmired by others' opinions regarding their personhood. They are forces capable of entering rooms silently while being heard by all in the vicinity with the power of a lion's roar and the grace of a canary's tune.
Clients who receive personal styling services from En Vogue Erv™ also possess an affinity with all that is glamourous—indeed, such individuals embody glamour and prestige. Accordingly, En Vogue Erv™ specialises in artfully constructing looks and curating wardrobes consisting of inimitable pieces by maisons de couture.
En Vogue Erv™'s singular approach to fashion styling has been meticulously and steadfastly informed by empirically validated psychological principles and theories since the brand's inception. Self-empowerment theory and the fieldwide ethos of positive psychology, for example, are integral to the brand's work in the domain of personal styling. As such, clients who receive personal styling services from En Vogue Erv™ are especially poised to enjoy positive mental and emotional health outcomes often associated with engaging in psychotherapy, such as improved self-worth and mood.
In short, to be styled by En Vogue Erv™ is to be transformed; it is a categorically incomparable experience.
"I feel the person who wears my clothes is the person who wants to express himself . . . he doesn’t want to be intimidated by clothing." —
Willi Smith
Willi Promise
The En Vogue Erv™ brand is earnestly committed to supporting the fight against HIV. This commitment is emblematised by the Willi Promise—the brand's formal pledge to donate a portion of its proceeds to nonprofit organisations, collectives, or other community groups completing work in HIV prevention and treatment.
The Willi Promise is named in memory of legendary fashion designer Willi Smith; Willi led the peerless fashion label that was WilliWear until his passing from HIV/AIDS-related complications in 1987. He was 39 years of age at the time of his death. Willi was the forefather of luxury streetwear, and his creative output was influential in democratising fashion such that people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds could feasibly access high-quality garments. Willi's storied career in fashion included working under the tutelage of Arnold Scassi; designing garments for Elizabeth Taylor; and studying fashion design at Parsons School of Design.
The Willi Promise aligns with Ervin's longstanding devotion to combatting HIV. Indeed, Ervin spent the first decade of his professional life completing work in HIV prevention and treatment across functions, sectors, communities, and United States regions; he worked as a sexual health educator at inner-city schools in Central New York; he engaged in HIV-related community outreach efforts as an employee and volunteer at nonprofit organisations in New Orleans, Louisiana, and New Haven, Connecticut, respectively; he completed psychosocial HIV research projects at Michigan State University, Syracuse University, and the University of Miami; he created and directed I am PrEPared, a Utah-based, statewide HIV awareness campaign; and, most recently, he has worked in HIV policy in the Washington metropolitan area. The En Vogue Erv™ brand jubilantly builds upon its founder's extensive history of HIV advocacy.
